Pricing & Payment
How much does a garage cleanout cost with Sort Squad?
One flat rate: $699. That covers two pros, the truck, two hours of labor, the sort, haul-away of up to one truckload, the donation run with receipts, the deep clean, and organization of everything that stays. City dump fees pass through at cost, only if your load needs them.
Is $699 really the total price, or are there hidden fees?
It's the total. The only possible pass-through is city dump fees — billed at documented cost, only if your load actually needs them, and most jobs don't. No add-ons, no upsells, no driveway renegotiation.
Why is your price flat when junk removal companies charge by volume?
Volume pricing is why driveway quotes keep climbing. We studied hundreds of South Florida garages and built one standardized service that covers the vast majority of them, so we can promise a single number before we ever see your garage.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover — plus Apple Pay and Google Pay, processed securely online through our payment processor. We don't take cash at the door, which keeps pricing transparent for everyone.
When do I pay?
When your day is confirmed — secure card payment locks your slot. If city dump fees apply to your load, they pass through at cost afterward, with the receipt and your written OK.
Is my card information safe?
Yes. Payments are processed by a PCI-compliant processor (Stripe). Your card number goes directly to them over an encrypted connection — Sort Squad never sees or stores it.
Do you charge more for bigger garages?
No. $699 flat, whatever the size. Some garages are a bigger story than two hours can hold — in that case we simply come back: book another session and the crew continues where they stopped. You always decide.
Do you offer discounts or coupons?
No. One honest flat rate, every city, every week of the year — instead of an inflated price wearing a coupon.
Can I tip the crew?
Tips are never expected but always appreciated. If your crew crushed it, you can tip in cash or add it when we send your completion receipt.
Do you price-match other companies?
No — because no other company offers the same service. Junk haulers don't organize, and organizers don't haul. If you find someone who does both, with a licensed insured crew and a truck, at a flat published price, we'd love to meet them.
Booking & Scheduling
How do I book a garage day?
Online, in about two minutes: name, phone, ZIP, garage size, preferred day. We call back the same day to confirm, you lock the slot with secure card payment, and you get a reminder the day before.
How far in advance should I book?
Most slots are available within 2–5 days. Saturdays fill first, especially at the start of hurricane season and around the holidays — book a week ahead for weekend service.
Can I book same-day or next-day service?
Sometimes. If a crew has an opening we'll show it in the online calendar. For urgent cleanouts — home closing, inspection, storm prep — call us and we'll try to fit you in.
What are your working hours?
Crews run Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM, with arrival windows at 8–10 AM, 11 AM–1 PM, and 2–4 PM. No Sunday service, so our teams stay fresh.
Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes — free up to 48 hours before your window, easily via the link in your confirmation email. Inside 48 hours we allow one courtesy reschedule when we can.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancel 48+ hours out and you get a full refund. Inside 48 hours a reservation fee applies — full details in our Terms & Conditions.
What happens if it rains or there's a storm?
Light rain doesn't stop a garage job. For severe weather — tropical storm or hurricane watches, lightning, flooding — we'll reschedule you at no charge, usually within the same week.
Do I need to be home for the service?
Yes, for the first 10 minutes: the walkthrough where you tell us what goes and what stays, and again at the end to approve the result. In between, you're free to work, run errands, or just watch the transformation.
Can someone else authorize the job for me?
Any adult 18+ that you designate can run the walkthrough — a spouse, adult child, or property manager. They make the keep/go calls on your behalf, so choose someone who knows what's precious and what's not.
How will I know when the crew is arriving?
You'll get a reminder the day before and a text when your crew is en route, with their names. They arrive in uniform in a marked truck.
The Service Day
What exactly happens during the 2 hours?
First 10 minutes: walkthrough — you mark items go, stay, or not-sure. First hour: clear-out and truck loading. Second hour: everything that stays is organized into zones, floor swept, final walkthrough, before/after photos. Done.
Who are the two people coming to my house?
Trained Sort Squad crew members: background-checked, insured, uniformed pros who do this every day. You'll get their names in your arrival text.
Do I have to do any lifting or prep?
None. Don't clean, don't pre-sort, don't move anything — that's literally what you're paying us for. The only prep that helps: know roughly what you want to keep, and clear a truck-sized parking spot.
What if I can't decide whether to keep something?
That's normal — it's half the job. Not-sure items go in a staging pile, and you make the final call before anything is loaded. Our crews never pressure you and never guess.
Will you open boxes and sort what's inside them?
We'll open and sort boxes with you during the time available. For boxes of papers or personal items, most customers keep them sealed and just decide keep-or-go at the box level — it's faster and more private.
What if my garage takes longer than 2 hours?
The crew will tell you at the walkthrough if your garage looks like more than one session. They'll finish the highest-priority areas first, and if you want the rest handled, we'll come back — book another session and they continue exactly where they stopped.
Can you finish faster than 2 hours?
Often, on lighter garages — and the organization portion just gets more detailed. You booked a result, not a stopwatch: junk gone, garage organized, floor swept.
Do the crews take breaks on my time?
No. Two hours means two hours of work. In the Florida summer crews hydrate as they go — that's a safety standard, not a break.
What should I do with my cars during the service?
Park them on the street or at the far side of the driveway before the crew arrives, so the truck can get close to the garage door and the crew has clear carry paths.
Do you take photos of my garage?
Yes — before and after shots for quality records, which we share with you at sign-off. We never publish photos for marketing without your explicit opt-in.
What We Take
What items can you haul away?
Nearly everything a South Florida garage collects: furniture, mattresses, appliances, e-waste, boxes, bikes, toys, exercise equipment, patio furniture, garden tools, scrap wood and metal, and general clutter.
What items can't you take?
Hazardous materials: paint, solvents, chemicals, fuel, propane tanks, wet-cell batteries, asbestos, medical waste, and tires. Also firearms, ammunition, and anything unlawful to transport. We'll consolidate these and tell you exactly where your county accepts them — usually free.
Can you take old paint cans?
We can't transport liquid paint — it's regulated. We'll gather every can in one spot and give you your county's household hazardous waste drop-off info. Fully dried-out latex paint cans are ordinary trash, and we can advise how to dry them fast.
Do you take refrigerators, freezers and AC units?
Yes — appliances with refrigerants are accepted and routed to proper recycling. If it's plugged in, empty it before your appointment; we'll handle the rest.
Can you haul TVs, computers and electronics?
Yes. E-waste is separated and taken to electronics recyclers, never the regular landfill stream. Wipe personal data from devices first, or physically keep the hard drives — our crews can pull a drive-containing tower aside for you.
Do you take pianos, safes and other very heavy items?
Usually, yes — tell us at booking so we can plan the equipment and manpower. A surprise 600-lb safe is the one thing that genuinely slows a crew down.
Can you remove a car, boat, or trailer from my garage?
Vehicles aren't part of the standard service. We can recommend reputable local buyers and haulers for junk cars and boats — and once it's out, we'll reset the garage around the new space.
Will you take construction debris?
Light DIY leftovers — a few boards, a broken cabinet, some tile boxes — yes, within your truckload. Full renovation debris needs a different disposal stream; ask us and we'll quote it separately or point you to the right dumpster service.
Can you take lawn mowers and gas-powered tools?
Yes, once drained of fuel and oil. If they're still fueled, we'll set them aside and show you how to drain them safely, or you can keep them for a hazardous-waste day.
Is there anything you'll refuse on the spot?
Anything unsafe for the crew or illegal to transport — active pest infestations, suspected asbestos, biohazards. Refusing a specific item doesn't cancel your service; the crew completes everything else as planned.
Donation, Recycling & Disposal
Where does my stuff actually go?
Three streams, in order: usable items to local donation partners, recyclables (metal, e-waste, cardboard) to recyclers, and only the remainder to licensed disposal facilities. Landfill last is a company rule.
Can you donate my items to charity?
Yes — donation-worthy furniture, tools, housewares and sporting goods are separated during loading and dropped at local charities and donation centers as part of the standard service.
Will I get a donation receipt for taxes?
When a donation partner issues a receipt, we'll pass it along by email. If a tax receipt matters to you, tell the crew at the walkthrough so they route items to receipt-issuing organizations.
Do you recycle electronics responsibly?
Yes. E-waste goes to electronics recyclers who handle boards, batteries and screens properly. It never goes in the general disposal load.
What happens to scrap metal?
Metal shelving, tools, bike frames and appliances are separated and taken to metal recyclers — one of the easiest wins for keeping material out of the landfill.
Can you shred or dispose of old documents securely?
We recommend keeping document boxes and using a dedicated shredding service — many South Florida UPS stores and mobile shredders handle this cheaply. We're happy to consolidate and label the boxes so it's a five-minute errand.
Do you take items to consignment or sell them for me?
We don't sell on your behalf. If something looks genuinely valuable, the crew will flag it to you rather than load it — deciding what's worth selling is always your call.
What if I want proof my items were disposed of properly?
Ask at booking and we'll note it — your completion email can include where each stream went (donation partner, recycler, disposal facility) for that job.
Are your disposal practices legal and licensed?
Yes. We use licensed transfer stations and disposal facilities and follow county rules for regulated items — it's why we can't just throw paint cans on the truck.
Why does 'donate first' matter?
Because a third of what garages hold is perfectly usable, South Florida charities need it, and every donated item is disposal cost we don't pay — which is part of how the flat $699 stays possible.
Organization
What does the organization part actually include?
Everything you keep gets sorted by category and arranged into labeled zones: everyday items at grab height, tools together, sports gear staged for loading, seasonal and hurricane supplies stored high and reachable. Then we sweep and hand it back.
Do you bring shelves, bins or storage products?
The garage day uses your existing shelving and bins first — most garages already own more storage than they use. Bought new racks? The crew assembles, anchors and loads them as part of the job.
Can you make room so my car finally fits inside?
That's the #1 request, and it drives our whole zone plan: walls and vertical space for storage, floor for the car. If a car physically fits in your garage, our goal is that it parks there the same night.
Will you label things?
We label zones and bins where it helps — simple, readable labels so anyone in your family can find (and return) things. Bring a label maker preference? Tell the crew.
How do I keep the garage organized afterward?
The zone system does most of the work: when everything has an obvious home, things get put back. We leave you a simple one-page zone map, and our blog has a 10-minute-a-month maintenance routine.
Can you organize without hauling anything away?
The Reset includes haul-away, but if you truly want zero removal, the crew will happily spend both hours purely organizing. Same flat price — most customers discover at least half a truckload once sorting starts anyway.
Do you organize other spaces — closets, attics, sheds?
Our crews focus on garages, carports and attached storage rooms. Sheds usually qualify — mention it at booking. Interior rooms and closets aren't part of the standard service yet.
What about pest problems — roaches, rodents, spiders?
Florida garages, we know. Light webs and the odd palmetto bug don't faze our crews. Active infestations need pest control first — we'll pause, point you to a good exterminator, and reschedule free.
Can you organize a garage that's also a workshop or gym?
Absolutely — those are the most satisfying jobs. We zone the workshop bench or gym area as its own station and organize storage around it so the space serves its real purpose.
My garage floods sometimes. Do you plan for that?
Yes — common near the coast. We keep cardboard and fabric off the floor, put water-sensitive items in sealed bins or up on shelving, and leave the lowest level for things that can get wet.
Trust, Licensing & Insurance
Is Sort Squad licensed and insured?
Yes. We're a licensed business carrying general liability insurance, and our crews are covered while working on your property. Certificates of insurance are available on request — just email us.
Are your workers background-checked?
Every crew member passes a background check before wearing the uniform. You'll receive your crew's names in the arrival text, and they carry company ID.
What if the crew damages something?
Report it within 48 hours with photos and we'll make it right — repair or fair compensation for damage caused by our negligence. It's rare: careful handling is the core crew skill. Details are in our Terms.
What if something goes missing after the service?
Everything removed is only what you approved at the walkthrough, and not-sure items are staged for your final call — that process exists exactly to prevent mistakes. Check pockets, drawers and boxes before approving removal; once the truck leaves, contents are unrecoverable.
Are you a franchise or a local company?
We're a South Florida company — local crews, local dispatch, local donation partners. We're building toward national service, but every job today is run by people who live here.
Do you have reviews I can read?
Yes — see our Google Business Profile for verified customer reviews, and the testimonials throughout this site. We ask every customer for honest feedback at sign-off.
Why should I trust a flat price instead of an on-site quote?
Because the incentives flip. On-site quoters profit by finding reasons to raise the price once you're committed. Our price is locked before we arrive — the only thing left to compete on is doing a great job.
Is your payment page secure?
Yes — checkout is handled by a PCI-compliant processor over an encrypted connection. We never see or store your card number.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every garage day is performed by our own trained crews, on our playbook, in our trucks. It's the only way to guarantee the same service in Kendall as in Jupiter.
What happens to my personal information?
We collect only what's needed to schedule and perform your service, never sell it, and process payments through a secure third party. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Service Areas
What areas do you serve?
All of South Florida: Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties — 50+ cities from Homestead to Jupiter. See the Service Areas page for your city.
Do you serve my neighborhood if my city isn't listed?
Almost certainly — the 50 cities on our site are anchors, not borders. If you're anywhere in the tri-county area, book with your address and we'll confirm within hours.
Do you charge travel fees for farther cities?
No. The $699 is the same in every city we serve — Homestead, Weston, or Jupiter. No zones, no fuel surcharges.
Do you work in gated communities and HOA neighborhoods?
Every day. Add gate codes or guard-gate instructions in the booking notes, and tell your HOA a marked box truck will be on site for about two hours — that's usually all they need.
Can you service condo or townhouse garages?
Yes — private garages, tandem garages, and assigned garage units all qualify. For shared parking-level storage cages, contact us first so we can confirm building rules and truck access.
Are you expanding beyond South Florida?
That's the plan — Sort Squad is built to go national. If you want us in your city, tell us; demand genuinely moves the list.
Do you serve businesses or just homes?
Homes are the core, but small commercial spaces — storage bays, shop garages, office storerooms — often fit the same 2-hour model. Contact us for a quick confirmation before booking.
Which cities book fastest?
Coral Springs, Pembroke Pines, Boca Raton and Kendall lead most weeks — big-garage suburbs with full garages. Book those a few extra days ahead for Saturday slots.
Can I book for a house I'm buying or selling?
Yes — pre-listing cleanouts and move-in resets are two of our most common jobs. Time it right after inspection or right before photos; your agent will thank you.
Do you do vacation homes and rental properties?
Yes. An authorized local representative (property manager, agent, family member) can run the walkthrough — designate them at booking and we'll coordinate directly.
Special Situations
Can you handle estate cleanouts?
Yes, with care — many of our jobs follow a loss or a downsizing. Expect to add the second truckload for full estates. Crews are trained to flag potentially valuable or sentimental items rather than assume.
Do you work with seniors who are downsizing?
All the time. We slow the walkthrough down, stage not-sure items generously, and never rush a decision. Adult children coordinating remotely can authorize and even join by video call.
Can you help with hoarding situations?
We handle heavy clutter regularly and severe cases with compassion — no judgment, ever. True hoarding conditions may need multiple visits or a specialized team; send photos before booking and we'll be honest about the right plan.
I'm moving. Should I book before or after the move?
Both work, differently. Before: we clear the garage so movers pack only what matters. After: we turn the box maze in your new garage into an organized space. Booking within two weeks of move-in beats living with the boxes for a year.
Can you clear a garage after a flood or storm?
For general storm cleanup — downed clutter, ruined cardboard, spoiled storage — yes. Standing water, sewage, or mold remediation needs a restoration company first; we're the reset after the space is safe and dry.
My garage is full of a deceased relative's belongings and I can't face it.
We hear this weekly, and it's why the crew — not you — does the physical sorting. You sit, point, and decide at whatever pace you need. Many families say the two hours felt like a weight lifting.
Can you do the job while I'm at work?
The walkthrough and final approval need you or your designated adult on site. Some customers do the walkthrough at 8 AM, leave for work, and return for the 10-minute sign-off.
We're expecting a baby / just had one — is this a popular time?
Nesting is real, and garages are usually where it collides with reality. Reset jobs before nursery setup are common: gear staging zone in, junk out, car parked inside for those 2 AM pediatrician runs.
Can I split the service between my garage and another area?
The two hours are yours — if the garage finishes early, crews can extend into an adjacent carport, storage room, or patio with the same haul-and-zone treatment.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes — a Sort Squad garage day is a legendary gift for parents, new homeowners, and that friend who's been about to clean the garage for years. Email us and we'll set up a gift booking.
Company & Policies
Why is it called a 'Reset'?
Because that's what it feels like: the garage goes back to factory settings. Not a cleaning, not a hauling job — a reset of the whole space in one visit.
What makes you different from the big junk removal chains?
They remove junk and charge by volume, quoted on site. We sort, haul, clean AND organize what remains, for a flat published price locked in before we arrive. Different service, different promise.
What makes you different from a professional organizer?
Organizers bring great systems but no truck and no haul-away — the discard pile becomes your problem. Our crew removes it the same visit. One appointment, finished space.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes: if anything about the organization isn't right at final walkthrough, the crew fixes it on the spot before sign-off. If we caused damage, our 48-hour claims process makes it right.
What if I'm not satisfied after the crew leaves?
Email us within 48 hours with specifics and photos. We'll make it right — a return visit, a partial credit, or a fix — case by case, honestly. Unhappy customers are how service companies die; we act like it.
Are you hiring?
Growing every month. We hire reliable, strong, customer-friendly people and train the rest. Email your info — crew leads earn more and every market we open needs them.
Do you offer franchises or licensing?
Not yet — but national expansion is the roadmap, and we're building the playbook now. Serious operators in other markets: introduce yourself early.
Can my HOA, realtor group, or company partner with you?
Yes — realtors, property managers and HOAs are our favorite partners. Bulk pre-listing packages and community event days are available. Email us to set something up.
Do you have a referral program?
Ask us at sign-off — referred neighbors are how we grow, and we make it worth your while. Half our jobs in some neighborhoods started with one before/after photo shared on the block's group chat.
How do I contact Sort Squad?
Book online any time, call us toll-free at +1 (866) 950-5553, or email book@sortsquad.us. We answer fast; slow replies lose garages.
Kitchens, Closets & Home Offices
Do you organize more than garages?
Yes. The same crews and the same keep / donate / gone system now run kitchen, closet and home office sessions across South Florida — plus commercial work for businesses. Garages remain the flagship $699 flat-rate service; other spaces are scheduled by request.
How do I book a kitchen, closet or office session?
Send the booking form with a note about the space, or call us. We'll talk through what you need, schedule the crew, and confirm everything in writing before the visit.
Is the $699 flat rate the price for kitchens and closets too?
The $699 flat rate is specifically the 2-hour garage day. Kitchen, closet and office sessions are scoped to the space — we confirm the details in writing when you book, before any work starts.
What happens to clothes I let go of during a closet session?
Donation first: wearable clothing and shoes go to local charities the same day, with receipts back to you for tax time. Damaged textiles go to recycling where available.
Can you organize my pantry so it stays organized?
That's the whole point of the zone system: categories get one labeled home at the right height, so groceries get put away in seconds. We also recommend sealed containers for dry goods — humidity and pantry pests are real in Florida.
Do you take old electronics from home offices?
Yes — computers, printers and dead cables go to e-waste recycling. Keep your data: tell the crew and any drive-containing machine gets set aside for you first.
Will you make me throw things away?
Never. You make every keep / donate / gone call; we stage the not-sures for your final decision and do the lifting. Our crews are trained to be patient, especially with sentimental items.
Can you do a whole-house organization project?
We can run multiple sessions across rooms — many customers start with the garage day and book the kitchen or closets after seeing the result. Tell us the rooms and we'll plan the sequence.
Do you install closet systems or pantry shelving?
We assemble and load shelving and storage systems you've purchased, as part of the session. We don't sell or design built-ins — but we'll happily organize around the ones you have.
Do kitchen or closet sessions include haul-away?
Yes — the truck comes on every job. Discards and donations leave the same visit, with donation receipts emailed back to you.
Business & Commercial
Do you work with businesses?
Yes — restaurants, law and professional offices, medical and dental practices, retail backrooms, general offices, and property managers across South Florida. Storage rooms, file rooms, dry storage, stockrooms and supply closets are our lane.
How is commercial work priced?
Every business space is scoped individually: tell us the space and the goal, we visit or review photos, and you get a written scope and price before anyone lifts a box. Disposal fees, when incurred, pass through at documented cost.
Can you work outside our business hours?
Yes — early mornings, evenings and closed days are normal for our commercial crews. Restaurants often book us for the morning after a closed Sunday; offices book weekends.
Can you organize a restaurant's dry storage?
Yes — by category and rotation (first in, first out), with shelving rebuilt and labeled so inventory counts get faster and inspections get calmer. Walk-in staging areas and backrooms too.
Do you handle law office file rooms and archives?
Yes — closed-matter archives boxed, labeled and shelved in order; supply closets zoned; and shred-pile consolidation staged for your shredding vendor. Your staff controls what's confidential; we never open files you mark closed.
Are you insured for commercial work?
Yes — licensed and insured, with certificates of insurance available for your vendor records before the job starts.
Can you clear out an office we're vacating or downsizing?
Yes — furniture, equipment and accumulated storage cleared, donated where usable (receipts for your books), recycled where possible, and hauled. Written scope first, scheduled around your lease dates.
Do you serve property managers with multiple locations?
Yes — maintenance rooms, common-area storage and turnover cleanouts across a portfolio, with one point of contact and the same crew standard at every property.
Will you sign a vendor agreement or W-9?
Yes — we handle standard vendor onboarding paperwork, certificates of insurance and W-9s as part of getting set up with your business.
What South Florida areas do you cover for commercial jobs?
The same tri-county footprint as our residential work: Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Multi-location jobs across the three counties are welcome.
